Dr. Zarinejad is a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Encino, California, with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, research and teaching.  She specializes in treating adults facing depression, anxiety, traumas, cross cultural challenges, adjustment difficulties and general life concerns.  Additionally, she has extensive experience with individual and couples navigating relationship struggles, divorce and other losses.
 
As a lecturer and educator, Dr. Zarinejad has been featured as a guest speaker on Voice of America and other educational television program.   Her primary area of interest is the mental health of young adults. In her theraputic approach, she integrates various psychological modalities tailored to the specific needs of each patients. These include:  Psychodynamic/ psychoanalytic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT),  attachment-based therapy, interpersonal therapy and mindfulness based techniques.
 
Dr. Zarinejad previously served as the clinical director for a five year research study at UCLA, examining the course and outcome of Bipolar Illness on adolescents.  Additionlly, as an expert witness, she provided testimony in Los Angeles court on  mental health issues affecting immigrants populations.
 
She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1992 from the Alliant University/California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles (accredited by the American Psychological Association).   Her post graduate training was completed at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital and she obtained her psychology license in 1996.  Her predoctoral training included, psychoanalytic studies at the Wright institute Los Angeles and clinical experiences at the Family Stress Center, and San Fernando Valley Child and Family Guidance.
 
Dr. Zarinejad has served as an academic consultant and dissertation committee member for doctoral students at Alliant University.  She was also the former treasurer and Board of Trustees member for the Iranian Psychological Association of America.
